The Importance & Uses Of Impermeable Geotextile Pond Liners

Geotextile pond liners are large fabric sheets that are installed onto grounds to form a protective membrane. These liners offer multiple functions and applications and are predominantly used for water conservation and engineering projects. A geotextile pond liner forms a protective layer preventing percolation losses of water in ponds and aquatic farms.
This blog will help us understand the importance and uses of Geotextile Pond Liners.

Impermeable Geotextile Pond Liners
Impermeable geotextile liners do not allow water to pass through them and are non-porous. They are beneficial for preventing water from travelling specific sections and also retaining it within particular spaces.

Importance & Uses Of Impermeable Geotextile Membranes:

Used As A Geotextile Pond Underlay
Geotextiles can also be used as a geotextile pond underlay; that is mechanically bonded with multiple layers of woven HDPE. Using a pond underlay offers several benefits. Overlays are usually installed on top of the pond linings around the pond edges, where the liners rise out of the water and on top of the surrounding soil.
Pond overlays are helpful for ponds with an underwater shelf or with shallow water plants as it offers protection against sharp objects.
The underlay protects the pond liner, where the textured layer of the underlay fabrics prevent the sliding of elements within the pond if the floor is unlevelled.

2. Diverse Applications
Emmbi’s Impermeable Geotextile Pond Liners have a diverse range of applications.
The liners are available in various sizes and quantities as per clients’ requirements.
Their applications include agriculture farm ponds, rainwater harvesting, garden ponds, conservatories, fish farming, and other aquatic farms like pearl farming.

3. Highly Recyclable, Which Makes Them Environmental Friendly
Geotextile Pond Liners like the one offered by Emmbi constitute single polymer High-Density polythene, making them highly recyclable and durable. Further, the use of welds instead of adhesives increases their recyclability characteristics as compared to other alternatives.

4. Habitech And PROTEX Technology
Emmbi’s geotextile pond liners are made with seven layers of construction and are super sturdy with strong cracking resistance, superior welding, dimensional stability and strength. The Habitech and PROTEX technology used for manufacturing the pond liners makes them highly durable for extended periods. Habitech is an innovative technology that is a fish-friendly and innovative technology that helps fish pond liners impersonate the natural aquatic environment. At Emmbi, we use three layers of Co-Ex film and two layers of LDPE coating that adds chemical resistance, oxidation protection and flexibility.
The Habitech technology also initiates organic algae growth, offers solid UV resistance, and reduces water evaporation by 50%.
PROTEX technology is based on a nano-based migration technology. The dense carbon layer formed due to the custom-built carbon nanoparticles spread inside the tube helps the geotextile liners avoid disintegration due to any chemical processes on its surface.
The liners are 13.5 feet, which is the widest width in the world, resulting in less number of joints, thereby increasing the strength of liners.
