Design Detail of a Baffle Bag

What is a Baffle Bag?

A baffle bag is a unique innovative container that prevents bulging and maintains a cube-like shape at all times. These bags are helpful is optimizing filling space usage, allowing a smooth flow of filling material. And since these bags are made from the high-quality polypropylene, they are strong, sturdy, and durable. In simple terms, baffle bags are a type of FIBC bulk bags that can fill to maximum capacity without bulging, retaining their shape, and remain sturdy during transport.

While most manufacturers offer a single standard type of baffle bags, Emmbi offers a variety of designs, each designed for specific purposes, staying true to the motto: ‘One Size Doesn’t Fit All’. Following are the different variations of baffle bags:

1. All Panel Baffle Bags
All panel baffle bags are standard baffle bags, which comes with a simple cubic construction, solely focused on optimizing space and preventing bulges. Standard baffle bag FIBC comes with corner loops and cross corner loops, to ensure right balance while lifting and carriage. A standard FIBC baffle bag also comes with netted baffles, which additionally prevents contamination. While the standard baffle bag is great for products with medium bulk density, the netted bags are suitable for flowy materials.

2. Circular Baffle Bags
Like a standard baffle bag, circular baffle bags are also aimed at saving space, but it also has additional functions. A circular baffle bag is capable in preventing leakages. The seamless design of this bag makes it perfect and cost-effective in storing fine powdered materials, and it can be used for products with a high bulk density of up to 1.1.

3. Pinched Edges
Pinched edges baffle bags are specially designed for lumpy and bulky materials, or those goods other than the ones in powdered form. They are usually used for materials with a low density of 0.4, and focused on lower safe working load. This type of bags are long in height, with a bell-shaped bottom for better lower stability.

4. Baffle Liners & Gambo Liner
Baffle bags with baffle liners are specially design for the storage and transportation of hygroscopic materials, i.e., materials that tend to absorb moisture from air. They are effectively used in storing fertilizers, wood pellets, chemicals, cellulose fibres like cotton and paper, etc. Gambo Liners, on the other hand are designed for high sift proofing resistance that improves load carrying capacity of the container. They are, in fact, an extended version of a standard baffle bag FIBC, that come with a double walled structure. Baffle bags with gambo liners are highly capable for storing and transporting very fine powders.

5. Squircle Baffle Bags
Squircle Bags have a cylindrical bottom, suitable for products having a bulk density below 0.6. They also are highly sifting proof, and designed to store pallets and pellets. They can also store fine powdered chemicals, and other materials in the form of fine particles. Squircle bags have a simple design that can be manufactured rapidly, and it works specifically for the ‘footprint to height’ ratio of 1:1.75 and above.

6. Belly Band Baffle Bags
Belly band baffle bags are standard baffle bags with strap-like bands placed on the top, centre, and the bottom of the bags. This type of bags offer high precision is bulge control, making them apt for the transportation of products with a high bulk density of over 1.2.
